This is an exquisite antique necklace dating to the second half of the 19th century

It’s made from solid 15ct gold and is set throughout with lustrous split natural pearls

The pearl-set elements are hinged at the centre. They hang from a fine, rope-twist chain with a barrel clasp.

There is a small hinged ring behind the swallow, from which you can hang your own charm, a pendant or a pearl.
