This is the most epic piece of Jack Spencer jewellery I’ve seen
It’s a Troy ounce of solid sterling silver, bearing a full UK hallmark from the Sheffield assay office
A Troy ounce = 31.1g
Jack Spencer was the first jewellery to incorporate the hallmark into his jewellery design. This piece utilised specially commissioned, extra large punches for the mark
The hallmark features the Lion Passant for sterling grade silver
JS for Jack Spencer
The York Rose for Sheffield (replacing the Crown, which was used up to 1974)
A letter B for the year 1976
The back of the pendant is blank – perfect for a personalised engraving
It’s marked 143 for the design number
The pendant measures 3.8cm across
The pendant rings make it 5cm long
It’s 2mm thick
It weighs 33.3g
The pendant is in excellent vintage condition
There is no damage or repair
The back shows irregularities to the surface where the sheet has been milled. It could be polished smooth
The front has a brushed, matte finish. It could also be polished smooth
The box is for display only
