This is an adorable pair of antique earrings that date to the mid-19th century
Theyre made from solid 18ct gold that has a warm, rosy colour.
The edges are scalloped and pierced – a “buttercup” setting – for the central turquoise bombe, often referred to as a “blackberry”
The turquoise cabochons vary only slightly in colour – a result of age and use, and a sign of a natural stone
The earrings measure 1.5cm long from the top of the hook
They’re 1cm wide
The turquoise “blackberry” is 7mm across
The earrings weigh 1.4g each
The earrings are in excellent antique condition
There is no damage or repair
All the turquoises are present and look original
The metal is unmarked but has been professionally tested as solid 18ct gold
The box is for display only
