A beautiful pair of large scale, openwork earrings set with marcasites and blister pearls
They’re made from solid silver and hang from rose gold hooks
They date to the early 20th century, although I don’t know if they’re Edwardian or 1930s
The large, oval panels are pierced and set to the centre with lustrous pearl cabochons. They hang from marcasite-set bars beneath the ornamented ear wires
The earrings weigh 3.5g each
They’re 5.2cm long and up to 1.7cm wide. From the top of the hook they’re 5.8cm long
The pearls measure 6mm across
The earrings are in excellent antique condition
There is no damage
All the marcasites are present and look original
The pearls differ subtly in tone – one slightly peachy, the other whiter
The earrings would originally have had screw-back fittings. These have been changed to gold earwires, attached with soft solder
The box is for display only
