An impressive statement locket that with a large glazed compartment
It was made around 1900, in the Georgian Revival style
It has a frame of hand-cut, colourless paste stones in cut-down, closed back mounts.
A ring of rose-gold sits between the pastes and the glass
The locket is made from solid sterling silver
It retains a little of the original gold plate on the back
It is marked 925 on the loose ring
The locket measures 4cm across
The lens on the front is 3.3cm across
The lens on the back is 3.1cm across
Externally, the locket is 8mm deep
It will accommodate items up to 5mm deep
The locket weighs 16.6g
The locket is in excellent antique condition
Yhere is no damage or repair
All the stones are present, original and securely set.
Some are a little yellow on close inspection, but none are dull or dark
The back of the locket opens easily and shuts securely
