My jeweller and I couldn’t agree if this is an orchid or a pansy…or perhaps it’s something else?
It dates to c1900 and is made from solid 18ct yellow gold
Its original enamel was damaged beyond repair, it has been cold enamelled in white, blue and pink, giving it a bright, contemporary look
The tiny diamond at the centre adds a focus, and a sparly contrast to the silky enamel
The pendant measures 2.4cm long including the bail
The flower measures 1.8cm long by 1.9cm wide
