A beautiful collection of 5 natural opals, set with Old-cut diamonds, in rose-gold backed silver
Dating to c1900 and entirely handmade
The cabochon opals are claw set in gold, the diamonds sit flush in the silver
The front of the necklace – originally a brooch – hangs from a 9ct yellow gold, flattened curb chain
The necklace measures 17.5″ / 44.5cm long
The chain is 8″ / 20cm long, either side
The front measures 1.5″ / 4cm wide by 1″ / 2.5cm long
The necklace weighs 9.2g
The opals are superb – an intense, electric turquoise colour, with lime green tones and touches of lilac
They glow with a bright, sunset orange when the light catches them
The diamonds are white, with grey tones (no yellow). They show flaws and inclusions under x10 magnification
All are original and securely set
The necklace is in excellent antique condition with no damage or repair
