A great Georgian quizzing glass in excellent condition
Made with a slightly magnifying lens, the glass can be worn as a pendant
The glass was made in the early 19th century from gold-skinned metal (a sheet of gold fused to a base metal core)
It has been hand chased and engraved with delicate floral designs on the frame and handle
There is a small steel screw beneath the lens. This allows the lens to be removed if necessary
The quizzing glass measures 6cm long
The ring has an internal diameter of 13mm
The lens measures 3.6cm x 2.6cm
It weighs 8.7g
It’s in very good antique condition
There is no damage or repair
There is light surface wear throughout but no chips or scratches to the glass
